This business had been in operation for 9 months when bpo accounting was appointed to outsource the finance and accounting function. Prior to this, the financial control during the company's turbulent first period had not been good and, as part of our due diligence process, data was gathered from every source and verified before being processed. Within a matter of weeks the accounts were up to date and the client was receiving regular management information.

During this verification process, some previously unrecorded liabilities were uncovered but, more satisfyingly, a significant VAT refund was discovered and processed through to HM Customs & Revenue.
